TORNADO - The Team with the Comedy Flying Cow
OUNDLE MILL 2000

Dave and I took Tornado to the first Peterborough meet, organised by Mark from the Executioner team. We met up with a few other roboteers for a bit of a social event in a pub near Mark's house, and then moved to a pub near Oundle.

Attendees included Mike from 101 (who brought Scuttle along, his Technogames walker), John Reid (with two havles of KillerHurtz and a Shunt toy), Arfa, Kim, Rob and Ben with Mortis, John Wilkinson (Lex) of Savage Toaster fame, Si from King Buxton, Ian Lewis from Razer, Suicidal Tendencies plus crew, Martin from Anthrax, and probably a few more whom I've forgotten. ST and Mortis were running in the pub car park, and we intended to run Tornado, but it was not behaving. We think something failed in the controller box, as the failsafe was not cutting in, but we kept momentarily loosing power and control. We were going for long enough to push Mortis about a bit though...

The evening included a good meal in which lots of interesting discussion ensued, and Jon Reid flew his indoor helicopter! Well done to Mark for the organisation, plus brilliant choice of pub! It's a real shame we didn't stay for the after dinner entertainment, from some of the most gorgeous waitresses I can remember... We look forward to the next one.
